ANAB Expands NVIDIA’s Scope to Inspect Emerging AI Technologies Across Critical Sectors

The ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) is pleased to announce that the accreditation scope of the NVIDIA Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab as an inspection body has been expanded to include a range of standards related to industrial, robotics, and agricultural technologies under ISO/IEC 17020, Conformity assessment — Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection.
The expanded accreditation scope reflects NVIDIA’s growing leadership in the development and inspection of advanced systems powered by artificial intelligence. The newly expanded scope will allow NVIDIA to target applications such as:
- AI-powered factory automation – covered by IEC 61508 and ISO 13849
- AI-powered autonomous mobile robots – covered by IEC 61508 and ISO 13849
- AI-powered autonomous forklifts and cranes – covered by IEC 61508 and ISO 13849
- Humanoids – covered by IEC 61508
- AI-powered orchestration of autonomous machines – covered by IEC 61508
- AI-powered autonomous surgery – covered by IEC 61508
- AI-powered semi-autonomous and autonomous agricultural machines, such as tractors and harvesters – covered by IEC 61508, ISO 13849, ISO 25119, and ISO 18497
“For ANAB, the accreditation of a global technology leader like NVIDIA reflects both the relevance and adaptability of our accreditation programs,” said Paul Matera, senior accreditation manager at ANAB. “As industries evolve to integrate AI and autonomy, inspection activities must evolve in parallel. ANAB is committed to advancing the integrity of conformity assessment systems in industries that are shaping the future—supporting innovation while assuring compliance, reliability, and quality at every stage.”
“The expanded accreditation by ANAB of the NVIDIA Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab to industrial, robotics, and agricultural safety marks an important step in ensuring that integration of partner technologies—especially those powered by artificial intelligence—with NVIDIA’s Halos AI system is subject to rigorous, independent evaluation,” said Riccardo Mariani, vice president of industry safety at NVIDIA.
