ANAB Assessments Accepted for California Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program

ANAB Recognized by FL DOH Environmental Laboratory Assessment Program

The California Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP) now accepts ANAB on-site assessment reports and corresponding corrective action plans in lieu of state assessments.

The California ELAP acceptance of  ANAB on-site assessment reports and corrective action plans is based on ANAB’s recognition by the NELAC Institute (TNI) as an approved Non-Governmental Accreditation Body (NGAB).

Under the California ELAP, laboratories can be assessed directly by the state or by a recognized accreditation body such as ANAB, in which case California ELAP will use ANAB assessment reports and corrective action as the basis for granting a laboratory accreditation.

To expedite accreditation, the state recently announced the option for laboratories to undergo assessments by TNI-approved accreditation bodies in connection with testing for per- and poly-fluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS) in non-drinking water matrices, and California has confirmed that this arrangement applies more broadly for any laboratories accredited by California ELAP.
