Accreditation Committee for ISO/IEC 17065

The Accreditation Committee for ISO/IEC 17065, as part of ANAB’s structure, is responsible for oversight of products, process, and services accreditation programs. The Committee:

  • Assists with the development and review of policies for the operation of the accreditation program.
  • Provides feedback on the implementation of accreditation program policies.
  • Provides input on accreditation requirements and procedures and criteria for assessments.
  • Is responsible for assigned ISO/IEC 17065 accreditation decisions including; initial accreditations and suspending and withdrawing, in accordance with MA 5102.
  • Serves as a mechanism to safeguard ANAB’s impartiality within the product certification accreditation.

The Committee endeavors to discuss and disseminate information to and receive input from stakeholders across the globe who are involved in the certification of products, processes, and services.

Members

The Committee is made up of approximately 12 members, who are selected based on their competence and to provide a balance of experience among the types of programs offered by ANAB. The membership of the Committee includes, but is not limited to professionals representing industry, conformity assessment, and government.

Because the ANAB Accreditation Committee is a formal part of ANAB’s organizational structure, any questions related to the Committee’s role and responsibilities or related to the members, can be directed to ANAB management staff.
