Understanding the Requirements and Concepts of ISO/IEC 17065:2012

Through presentations, small group discussions, and exercises, you will:

• Review the accreditation requirements of ISO/IEC 17065.
• Identify the content (including types of documents and data) that may be helpful in demonstrating compliance with each requirement and how this content is reviewed during an assessment.
• Define terminology and identify documents, best practices, and other resources that can be helpful in building an understanding of the standard.
• Become familiar with the ANAB accreditation process and its reliance on ISO/IEC 17065, and ISO/IEC 17011, Conformity assessment – General requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies.

This workshop is designed to provide participants with the information they will need to initiate a self-assessment process to identify strengths and possible gaps in their organization internal policies and procedures.

Representatives of corporations, organizations, scheme owners, government agencies, and others who operate product, process, and service certification programs or who wish to learn more about the ANAB accreditation process.

This training is designed to present conformity assessment concepts for the certification of products, processes, and services as defined in ISO/IEC 17065, Conformity assessment – Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services.  Discussions will focus on building an understanding of the standard’s requirements, its benefits, and why it has become the international benchmark for product certification.

The course content provides the certification body, scheme owners, and others interested in certification of products, processes, and services with an understanding of the requirements presented in ISO/IEC 17065 through practical examples and class exercises.  The course is designed as an event to learn through two days of interaction.
