This course provides an introduction to the statistical concepts and techniques used to collect, organize, analyze, interpret, and present data. Topics include descriptive and inferential statistics, with emphasis on data distributions, measures of central tendency and variability, and the application of common statistical methods, including their relationship to the empirical rule.

Additional topics include numerical and categorical data, graphical methods for data visualization with emphasis on control charting, repeatability and reproducibility, accuracy, precision, bias, confidence intervals, standard error, and laboratory decision-making tools. The course also introduces the principles and application of hypothesis testing.  Practical application of these statistical concepts and techniques to various requirements in ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17020 will be demonstrated.

This training course is available as a private session. Private sessions are a great option for organizations that have several staff members that need the training.
