In January, ANAB will be hosting an intensive training course at the Gaylord Rockies – Denver. With the return to normal, this is an opportunity to burnish your internal auditing skills that can only be done in-person.  Take advantage of the opportunity to engage with an instructor in-person at this training course.

Course and accommodations information is detailed below.

Internal audits are required by many different ISO standards, including ISO/IEC 17025 for laboratories and ISO/IEC 17020 for inspection bodies. Establishing, implementing and maintaining an effective audit program is key to ensuring internal audits provide accurate and reliable information about the conformance of the management system to requirements. Additionally, internal auditors must have the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively and efficiently carry out the planned internal audits.

Internal auditor training lays the foundation for internal auditors. This Internal Audit Intensive Workshop expands on the internal auditing concepts, focused on experiential exercises and learning techniques that apply to all standards. The Workshop will provide an overview of auditing principles from ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17011, as well as how to develop an audit program and train internal auditors internally.

The Workshop will also provide methods for defining audit objectives, criteria and plans. Small group exercises will guide participants in performing internal audits by gathering and documenting objective evidence, filling out checklists and interviewing. Additionally, participants will gain experience in documenting findings, report writing an distribution and tracking and responding to nonconformities. Audit follow-up, such as evaluating auditor competence and using audit results for continuous improvement will also be discussed.

Mock audit practice is incorporated into the Workshop using pre-defined scenarios, as well as scenarios generated by the participants’ own experiences. Hands-on practice demonstrates competence in the topics discussed throughout the Workshop.

Internal Audit Intensive Workshop will be held January 15-17, 2024 9:00am-5:00pm MT.  A 2 hour Exam will be available for 48 hours after the course ends.
