ANAB assesses certification bodies (CBs) based on ISO/IEC 17021-1 and accredits those that demonstrate competence to audit and certify organizations conforming with a wide variety of management systems standards. Accreditation by a recognized and respected body such as ANAB ensures the impartiality and competence of the CB and fosters confidence and acceptance of the CB's certifications by end users in the public and private sectors.
General requirements for ANAB accreditation can be found in MA 5000, ANAB Management Systems Accreditation Manual, while specific requirements for each ANAB accreditation program (in most cases) are provided in an ANAB Accreditation Rule. Select from the menu at right for more information on specific accreditation program requirements.
You can purchase many management system standards from ANSI, which offers member discounts.
