Competency-Based Work-Based Learning Accreditation Program under ANSI/ASTM E3416-24
Competency-Based Work-Based Learning Model and the Value of ANAB Accreditation
The Competency-Based Work-Based Learning (CBWBL) model serves as a strategic bridge between career seekers and employers across diverse industries. It enables individuals to gain essential knowledge, skills, and abilities through structured work-based learning programs, while simultaneously helping employers access a qualified and highly trained talent pool.
Organizations that achieve accreditation through the ANAB Competency-Based Work-Based Learning Accreditation Program demonstrate conformance to industry-accepted practices. Accreditation signifies a deep understanding of the standard’s requirements and drives continuous improvement, resulting in the consistent delivery of high-quality work-based learning programs.
The Value of ANAB Accreditation

Assurance of Quality: The accreditation process verifies that work-based learning programs meet rigorous standards, ensuring consistency and effectiveness.
Recognition of Valid Programs: The ANAB symbol signifies that credential holders have completed a fair, reliable, and valid work-based learning program, enhancing employer confidence.
Legal Defensibility: Accreditation adds credibility and provides legal support in the event of challenges or disputes regarding the quality of work-based learning programs.

The ANAB assessment team will work with the applicant body in the posting, review, and closure of any nonconformity.

Accreditation: Accreditation is granted by the CAP Accreditation Committee and the accredited program provider operates its program in accordance with ANAB requirements and relevant CAP program policies and procedures.
Step 5: Stay Accredited! Surveillance: Surveillance of the accredited program provider provides confidence about the full implementation and effectiveness of the program provider. The intent of regular surveillance is to assure stakeholders of the quality of the services provided. Surveillance occurs every year annually before the date of initial accreditation.
