Course Description

This course provides attendees with an understanding of ISO/IEC 17043, General requirements for proficiency testing, with the main focus on applying the standard in accreditation processes. The course also provides an overview of the the ANAB laboratory-related accreditation program and requirements as well as information about planning and activities to consider when preparing to apply for ISO/IEC 17043 accreditation.

  • Understand ISO/IEC 17043 requirements for proficiency testing
  • Gain an understanding of proficiency testing schemes, planning, and design
  • Enable participants to develop competence in proficiency testing schemes
  • Understand how the standard is used in assessing the competence of proficiency testing providers
  • Gain an understanding of the role of an accreditation body, the ANAB accreditation process, and the benefits of accreditation
  • Acquire the knowledge needed to assist your laboratory with preparing for an ANAB accreditation assessment
