ANAB Seeks Nominees for Personnel Certification Accreditation Committee
ANAB is accepting nominations from interested persons to serve on its Personnel Certification Accreditation Committee (PCAC). Nominations must be received by Monday, August 31, and are for three-year terms beginning January 1, 2021.
The PCAC Nominations Committee seeks national experts with broad experience in the fields of personnel certification, accreditation, and policy development. Although all individuals with relative experience and knowledge are welcome to apply, preference will be given to individuals with a background in the following areas:
- Psychometrics
- Post-secondary education
- Government
Specific duties of committee membership include creating recommended policies and procedures for the ANAB Personnel Certification Accreditation Program, determining the accreditation status of certification bodies that have applied for initial accreditation or are undergoing their annual surveillance accreditation process, and providing input and advice to ANSI staff regarding operational issues. Submissions must be received by August 31, 2020.
ANAB’s Personnel Certification Accreditation Program verifies a certification body’s compliance with requirements outlined in the International Standard ISO/IEC 17024, General Requirements for Bodies Operating Certification Systems of Persons. In conducting its accreditation activities, ANAB follows the International Standard ISO/IEC 17011:2017, Conformity Assessment – General Requirements for Accreditation Bodies Accrediting Conformity Assessment Bodies. Since the inception of the program in 2003, more than 70 personnel certification bodies for 200 certification programs have been accredited.
