World Accreditation Day 2019: Adding Value to Supply Chains

Accreditation: Adding Value to Supply Chains

Annually on June 9, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) will join accreditation organizations worldwide to recognize World Accreditation Day (WAD). Established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperative (ILAC), WAD highlights the important role of accreditation around the globe.

Supply chains play a vital role in delivering products and services in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Accreditation and related quality infrastructure tools such as standards, metrology, and conformity assessment, provide tools that deliver value to the supply chain. These tools promote trust and assurance, enabling confidence in products and services and the manner in which they enter the market and are used.

World Accreditation Day 2019 was celebrated with events, seminars, and media coverage around the globe, providing the opportunity to explore how accreditation can help deliver a safer world and support businesses, government, and regulators seeking standards, conformity assessment, and accreditation tools.

Public- and Private-Sector Recognition

Federal, state, and local authorities increasingly rely on ANAB accreditation to demonstrate value and assure competency in important public priority areas such as food and product safety and supply chain security. And numerous conformity assessment scheme owners rely on ANAB accreditation to foster consumer confidence, increase the quality and value of their programs, and distinguish themselves in the marketplace.
