ANAB is seeking contract assessors to assess third-party product certification accreditation programs. This ANAB program accredits third-party conformity assessment bodies (CABs) against the requirements of ISO/IEC 17065:2012, certification schemes, and applicable normative standards.
Some of the certification schemes in which assessors are being sought include (but are not limited to) the following:
Food Safety

The desired contract assessors will perform accreditation assessments of ANAB applicant and accredited product certification bodies. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
In addition to demonstrating various skills, knowledge, and personal behaviors, assessor candidates shall have successfully completed a lead auditor training course (e.g., ISO 9001) or equivalent and shall have auditing or assessing experience (first-, second-, or third-party) to demonstrate the necessary breadth of understanding of the various applications of the standards.
ANAB is seeking the following individuals to support the ANAB Product Certification Accreditation Program:
Lead Assessors, or Team Lead, are assigned to lead the assessment team and have knowledge and experience in evaluating an applicant or accredited certification body’s management system. Using interviews, observations, and review of policies and procedures, lead assessors manage the overall assessment and determines conformance of the organization's management system to accreditation and scheme requirements.
Lead assessors are responsible for:
Technical assessors participate as members on ANAB assessment team possessing the technical knowledge and/or experience related to the certification scheme. Using interviews, observations, and technical file reviews, technical assessors conduct assessments of an organization's conformance to accreditation and scheme requirements and evaluate the organization's technical competence to conduct activities under the organization's scope of accreditation.
Technical assessors are responsible for:
ANAB is currently looking for technical experts for various fields, including but not limited to, Cybersecurity Risk Management, Functional Safety, Infant Formula Food Safety in accordance with U.S. Federal Drug Administration (FDA) regulations.
Technical experts participate as members of the assessment team and are assigned by ANAB to provide specific technical knowledge and/or expertise about the scope of accreditation to be assessed. Using interviews, observations, and technical file reviews, technical experts support the assessment team in determining an organizations' conformance to the specific technical requirements of the certification scheme.
