ANAB provides accreditation for horseracing laboratories based on ISO/IEC 17025 and supplemental requirements based on ILAC G7, Accreditation Requirements and Operating Criteria for Horseracing Laboratories.
Supplemental program requirements include enacting quality control measures to minimize incidences of false-negative results and include quality control measures in every analytical batch; complying with local legislation when storing and handling controlled drugs; defining and documenting the schedule of screening tests; recording screening and analytical tests; documenting screening tests and related decision points for further analysis; determining and documenting limits of detection for representative analytes; keeping records for limits of detection; and requiring an additional qualified analyst to review analytical records.
