Course Description

This web-based course introduces the corrective action process as outlined in ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17020 and presents one approach for performing effective cause analysis. In addition, participants learn how to evaluate the significance of nonconforming work to determine if corrective action is necessary, the philosophy, purpose and benefits of performing an effective cause analysis, the process of asking ‘why’ at least five times to get to the source of the non-conformance, why ‘blaming the individual’ is missing the point, and the difference between correction and corrective action.

Participants will also acquire skills, approaches and tools for evaluating and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of a management system through effective cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.

Course Structure: The course content is presented over two days, 4 hours each day.  Participants are required to complete both days, and will be presented a certificate upon completion.
