Position Summary: The ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), the largest multi-disciplinary accreditation body in the western hemisphere, with more than 2,500 organizations accredited in approximately 80 countries, seeks dynamic and national experts in the fields of psychometrics, healthcare, manufacturing, information technology, finance, and energy for consideration as assessors for the ANAB Personnel Certification Accreditation Program. Qualified assessors will serve on a contractual basis to evaluate the competence and integrity of organizations across all industries that offer certifications for persons against the accreditation criteria contained in ISO/IEC 17024:2012 Conformity assessment – General requirements for bodies operating certification of persons as well as relevant ANAB policies and procedures. Assessors plan assessments, review documentation, conduct onsite assessments, issue nonconformities and evaluate corrective action, and report results to accreditation decision makers. Desirable assessor candidates will have had leadership experience in certification and/or accreditation organizations. Once selected, successful assessor candidates must participate and successfully pass classroom and field training regarding the 17024 standard and ANAB accreditation process. The final step is approval from the ANAB Credentialing Assessor Review Panel.

Contract assessors perform management system accreditation assessments of ANAB applicant and accredited certification bodies. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
In addition to demonstrating various skills, knowledge, and personal behaviors, candidates shall have successfully completed a lead auditor training course for a management system standard (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, R2, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, etc.) or equivalent and shall have a wide range of auditing or assessing experience (first-, second-, or third-party) to have gained the necessary breadth of understanding of the various applications of the standards.

ANAB is looking for technical experts for various fields related to ANAB laboratory, inspection body, proficiency test provider, and reference material producer accreditation programs.
Technical experts participate as members on ANAB assessment teams. Using interviews, observations, and documentation and technical file reviews, teams conduct assessments of organizations' conformance to the accreditation requirements and evaluation of their technical competence to conduct activities under the scope of accreditation.
Technical experts are assigned by ANAB to provide specific technical knowledge and expertise about the scope of accreditation to be assessed.
